Bobcat Hunts...Find the habitat, find the cat. Heavy cover along riverbanks and thickets are where their main food sources (rabbits, birds, field mice and other wild critters) live. Following the trail of a bobcat with a pack of well trained dogs is a hunt you'll not soon forget.
Bobcat hunting season is offered in December and January. The best hunting usually occurs after a fresh snow. Our operating area contains 450+ square miles of beautiful national forest and privately owned lands. Three to four (3-4) day hunts are the most successful when hunting for your perfect bobcat. It involves traveling mountain trails with 4x4, ATV, or snowmobile until we find a fresh track. The guides may also hike into remote areas looking for tracks when necessary. Once a good set of fresh tracks are located, our highly trained BearPath-Plott Hounds are released to pursue and tree the animal. Because the hounds can cover so much country, your Idaho Whitetail Guides professional will keep you with the vehicle until the cat is bayed up, then will try to get you as close as possible before hiking in to get to the cat. Plan to arrive the day before and depart the day after the dates of the hunt. Hunt Options: Call, text or email for current price information on our 3-4 day hunts. *Families & non-hunters welcome (with small fee) Note: Individuals born after January 1, 1975 must complete a hunter education course to purchase an Idaho hunting license OR show proof of a previously held valid hunting license in Idaho or another state.
